TRAINEE BUS DRIVER – May 2008 – January 2010
Cleaning the bus at the end of each shift, in preparation for the next shift. Conducting daily vehicle inspections to ensure bus safety. Using the correct safety procedures to operate lift and secure wheelchairs. Salary Range: The current minimum salary for Bus Operators at the JFK, Far Rockaway and Spring Creek Depots is 23.84 per hour for a 40-hour work week increasing to 34.06 per hour in the sixth year of service. Writing reports on traffic accidents, bus incidents and any road damage. Answering questions from passengers regarding route and time schedules. Reporting any problems that may disrupt scheduled service. Transporting passengers with disabilities. Assisting passengers on and off the bus. Operating the bus over the prescribed route, and following the correct time schedule. An equivalent combination or relevant education and experience. The Bus Operators are responsible for safely transporting passengers over specified routes according to established time schedules. Issues reports involving problems encountered on the route, including reckless driver reports, equipment failure reports and changing road condition reports. Collects bus fares, answers passengers' questions in a professional and congenial manner. Responsible for reporting for duty promptly in proper uniform, and for the safe and reliable transport of passengers along a designated route. This job requires regular and predictable attendance. My duties as a Bus Operator include providing courtesy safe transportation to the public. Right now she is looking for a suitable position with a company that has a professional work environment and a commitment to staff development.
